In order to achieve its goal of holistic development of children, Ankur Pratishthan has undertaken several unique initiatives. Ankur Pratishthan’s body of work can be roughly divided into 2 segments: Regular Sunday-to-Sunday activities through which Talent Identification & Grooming of children is carried out; and signature initiatives which provide further enrichment. Ankur Pratishthan provides training to children in as many as 42 topics which fall under the following broad categories:
Innovation has been at the centre-stage of Ankur Pratishthan’s operations throughout its journey. We are always on the look-out for novel approaches to existing problems. The solutions which exhibited the most promising results have been painstakingly developed into Signature Initiatives. They are as follows:
Creating a well rounded personality is necessary for the individual as well as societal growth. Keeping this in mind, our youthful volunteers design and conduct power packed recreational and developmental tasks with the help of songs, stories and interactive games as well as various activities for the children residing in underprivileged areas and orphanages (CCIs). These activities help them in their cognitive and linguistic development.
Project Adhyayan is structured to promote conceptual understanding and activity-based learning amongst students. The teaching modules designed by our volunteers and interns have been specially designed so that children not only enjoy the subject but also fall in love with the process of learning.
We emphasize on the skill development of a child based on their interest and the spark in the field of sports, fine arts and performing arts. We all know that development is an ongoing process. This process involves identifying and nurturing the innate talent of children. Under this project, we provide facilities, training, mentoring and tournament level exposure to children.
Through this project, we are working on the psychological mapping of children, Honing learning abilities through remedial therapies and improving their overall behaviour through one-to-one counselling.
This project aims at making our youth self-reliant through skill development programmes and provide support to accomplish their goals regarding higher education, after their stay ends in orphanages (CCIs). Through this project, we also introduce them to the environment of family and home.
Project Anubhooti is a social internship programme specially designed for undergraduate students with a view to provide them a glimpse of destitute children's lives, while inculcating the idea that their efforts can bring the change in the lives of these children. The central theme of that event focuses on the overall development of destitute children.
In the era of increased screen-time and ignorance toward reading, we have started this initiative for percolating the habit of reading, inculcating linguistic development and value education and channelise our children towards cultured reading. Activities encouraging the habit of reading will also be conducted under this initiative. Project Granthalaya is unique because this library will be at your doorsteps.
Destitute children often do not get to experience the essence of living in villages having a calm and peaceful environment in the vicinity of nature. Under Matrubhoomi Parichay Shibir, we arrange a rural based camp which gives them a window to become familiar with Jal, Jungle and Jameen of our villages. The organic environment and food gives them a sense that our Bharat is beyond any definition.
